Move from Tally
A Tally migration moves your accounts from Tally into LanceIQ Books so your books can be kept online. LanceIQ reads your Tally export, sets your opening balances at the switch date and proves them against Tally before you switch.
What is included
- Your Tally data read from its export, whatever the layout
- Ledgers and groups set up to match how you work
- Opening balances at the switch date
- Customer and supplier open items brought across
- A proof that the opening trial balance matches Tally
- Bank balances checked against your statements on the switch date
- GST and TDS settings carried over for each registration
Who it is for
For companies keeping books in Tally today that want their accounting, GST, TDS and compliance handled for them in one place, without a long migration project. It works whether you switch at the start of a financial year or partway through it.
What you provide
- A Tally export, or access for us to take one
- Last year's audited statements, if the year is closed
Everything else is done for you.

Common questions
Will my Tally history be lost?
No. Your Tally data stays with you, and the opening balances in LanceIQ Books are proved against it before you switch.
Can we move in the middle of a financial year?
Yes. We set opening balances at the switch date you choose and prove them against Tally on that date.
What does the proof against Tally show?
It compares the opening trial balance in LanceIQ Books with Tally's trial balance on the switch date, ledger by ledger, so any difference is visible and fixed before the switch.
Can we keep using Tally after the move?
You can keep Tally for reference. New entries are recorded in LanceIQ Books from the switch date, so there is one set of books going forward.
